Happy Birthday Jera

Jera's birthday was Sunday - so we headed over to "the east side" and spent the weekend with Jera, Cami, and Chelsea. We spent the night Saturday night (after we went to Shelby's first concert...more info to follow). Sunday we went to Jera's ward and then spent the whole day hanging out, eating yummy food, and having a lot of fun. We also got to visit with Uncle Phil and Aunt Kiersten's family and eat this amazing ice cream dessert. Anyway - Happy Birthday Jera - we love you!

Oh ya...about the concert. Dustin wanted to go see a band called The Heartless because his advertising guy, Abe, sings in it. They were playing at a place called Modified Arts in downtown Phoenix. They were really good, but Shelby's first concert was enjoyed from the car. It was so loud that she stayed in the car with Kolette and they were still able to hear the music. It was fun though.

Shopping Gene

If any of you know me, you know I love shopping and looking for a bargain. I think I got the shopping gene from my Grandma, and the bargain gene from my Mom. Anyway, I especially love Target. Yesterday we went to Target and Ross with Kala, Keely, Kolette, and Makellen for some school clothes for Kolette. It was a lot of fun! As you can see from the pictures above though, my little Shelby isn't much of a shopper. She always gets this extremely bored look on her face. I think it is hilarious....she must take after her Dad.

4th of July Weekend

Happy Independence Day!
Mom and Shelby

Proud Grandparents!! Mom and Dad with Shelby, Makellen, and Jordyn.

She is smiling a lot more now.

We went home for the 4th of July. We left Friday and the traffic near Payson was horrible. I guess everyone else decided to get out of the heat for the weekend. Good idea
though - it was so nice to sit on the porch in the evenings and enjoy the cooler weather.
We went to the Taylor Rodeo and Mikey (Keely's husband) took second place in the Bullriding event. I was so nervous for him (and Keely). He did awesome and we were all very proud of him. We went back to the house after the rodeo and watched the fireworks. It was a lot of fun and I was thrilled to meet up with Cami, Jera, and Chelsea too.
Dustin went back Sunday evening but I stayed a little longer. It was nice to spend more time with Mom and Dad and not worry about getting back to work. Kala and Keely came on Monday night and I rode back with them Wednesday. We were able to visit Aunt Marilyn and Aunt Barbara and family on Tues. evening. What a great 4th of July vacation!
